1.     Attendance:  All clubs were represented.

2.     Obituaries:  Frank Hopwood (Jubilee), one minutes silence was observed in his memory.

3.     Minutes of meeting on Monday 14th October 2013:  Minutes had previously circulated to all clubs.  Proposed by Andy Walker (Oakamoor) and seconded by Marilyn Sandall (Ashbourne Park) that the minutes be accepted as correct.  Carried unanimously.

4.     Matters arising:  Nil

5.     Club Fees / Fines outstanding:  Joyce Tate stated that all clubs had paid except for Cheadle, Ashbourne and Fox’s.  These matters were subsequently finalised at the end of the meeting.  All outstanding fines from 2013 and club fees for 2014 have now been paid.

6.     2014 Fixtures:   Following the AGM Barry Copeland had circulated draft fixtures via the website.  He had received a number of further alterations at the meeting and would update the website tomorrow morning.  As of Tuesday 1st April any further changes to the fixtures by clubs would be subject to the 30 day rule.  Val Smith (Henhurst) pointed out that some Vets fixtures were on a Bank Holiday Monday, Barry said he planned the fixtures regardless of Bank Holidays, clubs can change a fixture date by mutual consent, (subject to the 30 day rule).

7.     Competitions:  The 2014 competition dates and nominated greens had been arranged; unfortunately neither Don Wood nor Barry Copeland had the details to hand.  These arrangements are confirmed to be:

Ladies Competition                      Sunday 25th May               Doveridge

Mixed Doubles                            Sunday 29th June              Dilhorne

Singles                                       Sunday 13th July                Cheadle

Doubles                                      Sunday 31st August           Jubilee

After some discussion it was agree that entries for the Ladies competition should be in by 10th May, all other competitions entries to be in by the end of the preceding month.  Fees will be £1.50 per player playable with the entry form.  No refunds for players who failed to attend on the day.  Scratch out time would now be 1.45pm, draw to be made promptly.  Competition to start at 2.00pm or as soon as possible thereafter.

8.     Presentation evening:  There was a general view that the 2013 Presentation evening had been unsuccessful, the lack of entertainment being the main reason for complaint.  There was a general discussion about potential forms of entertainment and possible alternative venues.  Potential dates are 17th, 31st October or 7th November.  There was a large majority in favour of a buffet as opposed to a hot meal.  Lol Spooner and Ron Somerfield agreed to look at alternative venues and forms of entertainment, Bradley House being a suggested alternative venue.  A small ‘Social Committee’ was formed comprising of Lol Spooner (Fox’s), Ron Somerfield (Checkley), Roy Sandall (Ashbourne Park), Margaret Wood (Leek), Don Wood (Denstone) and Ken Unwin (Kingsley) who will meet at 7.30pm Monday 14th April at Bradley House to progress the issue on behalf of the full management committee.
